Pure hearts, lost souls, noise and the icy peaks of intensified feeling.
I am coming down, love. to the fascination. with the realisation that something great is going to fall. it is coming over me. sometimes it is way too deep. hang on. I fear the overload. from the vocation. but this introspection is bound to make me grow. we both crave the heat. sometimes the bridge is steep. oh how I long. I want to drift. into a stream. a convergence of my incessant dreams. escape this shattered silence, rejoice in perfect blindness, oh how I long. Mayflower Madame originally came into being as a ferocious glam-punk outfit, but eventually growing differences in musical preferences forced a change of line-up and the band started up with a new agenda in 2007. Nowadays the main inspiration is found in the jagged forms, emotional intensity and revolutionary subjective language of the original German expressionist art as well as a selection of bands from late 70’s/early 80’s post-punk and more recent shoegazer and indierock. While always embracing the beauty of a raw and honest sound this blend of influences are being brewed, distorted, and melted into their own, distinctive expression which – nourished by the conflicting forces of decadence and vitality in the modern asphalt jungle – can be described as dark and melancholic, sometimes ecstatic and noisy, but still melodically rooted.
