Since their conception in 2007, MEAN POPPA LEAN have been giving the UK underground scene a well needed kick up the arse with their out-of-control stage shows. Much like their Brighton contemporaries Doll And The Kicks and Sweet Sweet Lies, they have been creating a name for themselves with good old-fashioned hard work and talent. They have just returned from a TWO WEEK EUROPEAN TOUR to promote their single ‘SHERYL CROW’.

‘SHERYL CROW’ is the debut single from this Brighton based six-piece, initially released in the UK in October 2009 and supported by an extensive UK tour with fellow Brighton band FLOORS AND WALLS. The single is an all-out dancefloor banger, driven by a hypnotic woodblock-infused drum beat and a dirty distorted bassline. This song is a relentless snapshot of the band’s unique grasp on dance-funk, punctuated by an über-catchy call-and-response vocal and sealed with a lethal funk breakdown. This track comes about as close to capturing the band’s stage presence as is possible with current recording techniques!

MEAN POPPA LEAN are already creating a noise on the continent, with radio plays and club spins in that landed them a peak of number 12 in the Austrian Indie charts. The band have just returned from an 8-date European tour, covering a lot of ground on the circuit.
